Islam – The Humane Religion
The word Islam means peace and spreading peace. Not only in name but also in its teachings, Islam emanates peace.
It is contradictory and meaningless to tag terrorism with Islam a peace loving religion, and to use the phrase ‘Islamic terrorism’.
The objective of Islam is to spread peace and not to spread violence. Islam wishes that love and brotherhood should flourish and humane warmth should pervade among the people. Therefore the concepts of kindness,compassion and humane warmth found in Islamic teachings outshine the concepts found in other religions. If the fact is known,it could be clearly understood without doubt that Islam is a religion which does not spread extremism but which spreads humane warmth, compassion and kindness better than any other religion.
Children of One Mother:
The basic need for the human beings to be kind to each other is the sense of brotherhood. If we feel that all of us are the children of one mother, we will be affectionate and closer to each other. In the absence of such feelings, we will develop an indifference to others, and ignore the sufferings of our fellow beings. Islam instills the sense of brotherhood in the minds of the people deeply. Islam removes the discrimination in the name of religions and, castes and tell the people that all are the children of one mother and one father. Thereby it lays the foundation to nurture love and kindness towards the fellow beings.
Al Quran: 39:13
The Islamic ideology that all are the children of one mother and one father, has the potential to annihilate extremism totally. This Islamic ideology stresses that all people are brothers and there should be no fighting, violence among them.
Help Others:
Islam teaches that it is the best charity to extend our helping hand to whoever is in distress irrespective of their religion with brotherly feelings.

The Poor and the God:
It is said that one can see God in the smile of the poor. Islam goes beyond this. It preaches that to help the poor is to help God and ignore the poor is to ignore God. This can be cited as the best example for the humane approach Islam shows. What would be the better one than this humane approach when Islam says that to help poor is to help God?

Sympathy to the fellow beings:
Another best example for humane kindness in the Islamic teaching is that if we show compassion to fellow people the God will show us compassion and benevolence to us.

Compassion in war:
When it comes to war, world will look beyond humane feelings. In the warfare in general and in the modern warfare in particular, a culture of destruction is followed and children, old people and women are indiscriminately killed in the operation field. No nation is an exemption to this evil approach at the international arena. We see that the rulers justify their action by saying that in wars killings of innocent people cannot be avoided.
Islam is the only religion which sees that war zone is also a place where sympathy , kindness and humane feelings should be exhibited. Islam prohibits to kill the women, old people, children, innocent people who do not involve in the war.
In practical life, killing of innocent people in war is not even considered to be a negligible petty crime. But Islam calls it a great sin. This provides a clear and correct picture of the enormity of importance Islam gives to human lives.
There are many more number of example to show that Islam teaches human warmth,kindness, compassion and benevolence. It does not teach extremism anywhere.
In what way is it right to call Islam as a religion of extremism while it is swirling its whip against extremism and in favor of humane approach?
It is totally unacceptable and unjustifiable to stamp Islam a religion of extremism because of the activities of some mindless, foolish, heartless barbarians.
